For runs longer than 6' the nail fin can be pieced together in the frame.
this nail fin is a for a sliding patio door it gives you a 1/2 inch offset. as sliding doors like Hurd and Sierra pacific have a wider frame jamb. Nail fin pushes the nosing out so the door frame stays flat on the inside of the wall.

The Gemini II 2-point mortise locks has set the standard for 2-point locking in the sliding door industry.
